Scorpia 1

I am reading Scorpia, by Anthony Horowitz for my O.R. assignment. It is a book about a teenage kid, Alex Rider, that works for the British version of the CIA, which is called MI6. This is the 5th book in this series. The book is about how he goes to find answers about his fathers premature death, he was only on when his father died. MI6 told him that his father worked for them, but in the previous book the an assassin who was dying told him about his father and his destiny. He said, "Go to Venice. Find Scorpia. And you will find your destiny" (23). Yassen, who is the assassin, meant that he needs to go and Scorpia, and he will find all his answers.
The main characters in this book are Alex Rider, Julia Rothman, and Mrs. Jones. Alex is a smart and athletic teenage boy. He was recruited by MI6 after his Father and Uncle pass away. He looks normal from the outside, but on the inside he is really a highly trained spy. He is very nice and thoughtful. He cares about his family and friends. He is motivated by the idea of finding more about his Father. His motivation is described in this thought, "What he hadn't been able to tell his friend was the real reason he was here. Scorpia, to find more about his Father" (23). Julia Rothman is a ruthless, deceiving, and businesslike woman. She is the boss of the terrorist organization Scorpia. She is motivated by one thing, money. Mrs. Jones is the second in command of MI6. She is the one who ordered Alex's Dad, John Rider, to death. Alex is unaware of this throughout the first part of the book. She is very nice though, and motherly like. She cares about Alex because he own kids were taken from her a long time ago. She is motivated by her love for her job. So far this book is amazing.
