Scorpia 2

There are many conflicts that the characters are involved in. Alex Rider, the main character, needs to somehow find a way to stop Scorpia's weapon, The Invisible Sword, that will kill thousands of London school children within 72 hours. This conflict is described in the following sentences, "If you don't respond to our demands, then-at exactly four o'clock next Thursday afternoon- many thousands of London school children will die" (164). This is his biggest threat in all of the books so far. I don't know what will happen because I don;t know what "Invisible Sword" is yet.
Alex Rider faces a grave decision in this book. He see's a tape of how his father died and is presented by the idea that Mrs. Jones, one of the heads of MI6, was the one who gave the order to kill John Rider, Alex's late father. He is then given the assignment, his first with the terrorist organization Scorpia, to kill Mrs. Jones, a woman who has helped him throughout his time when he was working for MI6. His actions are shown in the following sentence, "He aimed the gun straight at her. He let the hatred take him. And fired" (198). He tried to shoot Mrs. Jones, but he didn't realize that she was standing in front of bulletproof glass. He had to struggle to make himself pull the trigger and that was one of his biggest decisions in the book. I like this book a lot still. I cannot wait to finish it.
